Changing Dependancies

Without exception, all the world's governments have a financial and ideological dependency on oil. In general, this universal policy renders our political, financial and economic systems instruments in the control of the powerful oil and energy companies - who are fixated on exploiting non-renewable resources and profiting from the pollution they produce.

The oil lobby commands our economies and democracy. It has gagged your political and financial representatives, making them incapable of articulating the changes required for our planet's salvation.

Tools for Sustainable Earth team believes the problem isn't fossil fuels - it's the adulation of the energy companies who tell the world's governments what to do. Big Fossil - our pet term for oil companies, says to the world's governments to argue that a transition from fossil fuels will unavoidably be bad for impoverished communities. Puerile propaganda.

The following five hundred days are critical for humanity and our environment. Collectively we need to end the combustion of all carbon-based fuels everywhere, start the cleanup of our atmosphere, land and oceans, and protect all original habitats and species from extinction.

When there's a fire in the kitchen, and the house is full of smoke - don't continue cooking! Because before the meal is prepared, you will be dead. The simplest solution to addressing the critical threat of global warming is to extinguish the fire. That means all fire everywhere - the fire in our combustion engines, the fire that turns the screws on a ship, the fire that heats water to cook rice or to turn a turbine to generate electricity (all financing Big Fossil - why would they ever want to stop).

The solution is simplicity itself - only by extinguishing all fire today will we all have a chance to breathe fresh air at a tolerable temperature tomorrow. Quoting from the book 'Navigating the New Normal' by Gregory Williams, 'stop the burn' immediately. The problem is combustion - Burning anything anywhere, regardless of the fuel or where it came from, is the problem. Don't be fooled by 'Bio-Fuels'. They are simply greenwashing. Switching our ideological & energy dependencies from fossil fuels or heavy oil or natural gas or bio-fuel or hydrogen enriched methane or wood or CO2 recovered fuel or animal droppings to renewables will enable this transition before we all choke on the carbons in the air or cook to death because of the GHG's.

Our vision of meeting all humanities needs with renewable resources is probably the greatest of these:

Sustainably supplying humanity's need for combustion(heat, light and cooking), land (food, grazing and cash crops)
